What is Qi stagnation?

That is: the blood flows slowly or doesn’t flow. If the blood flows slowly, the cells in blood will easily deposit in blood vessels. Once deposition, the stasis will come into being. Just like stacking one hillock in the smooth canal, and the water can’t flow smoothly. So does Qi. It will cause severe stasis.

At the time, human body will have the symptoms of dark face, dark purple lip and nails, cold limbs, dark purple tongue, petechiae, ecchymoses, and unsmooth pulse. This is stasis.

Because the number of blood capillary in kidney is huge, rugged into groups, and the blood flow in kidney is also very huge, once Qi stagnation forms, the stasis will easily appear in kidney. Therefore, we say almost all of the kidney diseases have the symptom of stasis.

The homophone of “毒” in Chinese (poison) is “堵” (obstruction), both pronounced “du”. In fact, poison also has the meaning of obstruction. Once obstructed, it is poison. The final result of stasis is obstruction. Therefore, long time stasis will cause poison.

The ancients say that running water is never stale and a door-hinge is never worm-eaten. So is water, let alone blood. Once blood stops flow, it will easier to cause poison. And the blood is infected with poison after long time stasis, the toxicity is fairly huge.

There are three aspects of the toxicity: Ultra immune inflammatory response, Ischemia hypoxia, Hyperplasia.
